He doesn't respect me...?

i live in a small community in uk where religion is THE big issue.catholicism and protestantism. my partner is catholic, me protestant.we recently had a 2 month break he came back missing me and now we are closer than ever. i am now expecting his child.he has started about how my religion is not that strong and didn't I feel his is better!! he is attending m more, ansd wants this kid to embrace both religions not just mine...any important protestant traditions that happens he checks up on me to make sure i don't go, or keeps me buzy etc. he has also talked abut me taking a better job in order for us to progress...why is he doing this all now???
