Driving opposite direction of officer, turned on lights to get me, but I turned on diff roads? Am I clear?

So I was driving past an officer in the opposite direction, I think he got me for speeding bec when I topped a hill he turned on his lights. However, I hit a few gravel roads and I lost sight of the lights so idk if he gave up and im in the clear or what? Also this was at night so can they still get me on their camera?
