High BBT but spotting.. confused?!?

Hi I've been charting my BBT since ovulation and it's steadily been increasing to 98.8 this morn. My period is due mon ( 2 days away) & I've starting brown spotting today. I'm really confused because I thought if my period was going to start my BBT should drop, not increase. Any advice? Thanks :)
