Just because i work there!?

i just recently got a job a a gas station. this is my first time working a a gas station in my whole life. now i knew i would have some problems here and there, expecially with the lotto machine. i never played befor so i dont understand certain things on it. but anyways i always wanted to learn. about a week ago this couple came in and wanted to play the take 5.so i asked" would you like to play with the machine picking your numbers for you or would you like to pick the numbers yourself. they chose to do it themselves, i pointed where the cards were to fill out. they did. they come up to me asking how to play. i told them i was not sure how to fill out the cards but i do know how to do a quick pick on the lotto machine.(that is tthe machine choosing numbers for them). they got upset with me!!! they started yelling at me saying its really important for them to play and to pick there numbers. so i tried to give my boss a call and he did not answer, apolgizing many times. the lady was getting even more mad at me. screaming saying she needs to play its important this is bulls*it . i should not work there. i did not yell back i said im very sorry i dont play the lotto i only know how to play on the machine. then she threaten to go across the street to the other gas staion. so they did.not knowing the boss owns that one as well.(hehe) but what i dont understand is if it was sooo important for them to play why would she put it on other peoples shoulders for her to play?? if she wanted to play sooo bad wouldent she learn how to play herself/? its just ben bugging me senice it happened and i wanted to just say FML!!!!!
