PLEASE please answer this for me!!?

this guy has never said anything to me about dating even though there seems to be something there, he seems to not be able to handle being really near me but stares from far away, he had iloveyou on his msn and then the same night stared at me for about 4 mins not looking away, then took it off afterwards, and never mentions that night even when he still sometimes talks on msn, he still acts nervous now when he's dating a female friend, plus i am the only girl he will never speak to in person - other girls who have had crushes on him he talks to, and when he talks to me on msn he plays love songs and he has this rose emoticon next to his name for over a year and when i was dating a guy last year he made it go 'wilted' until i broke up with my b/f =/ could all this mean anything? ive been too scared to ask him incase its all in my head, why can he date a girl who he's friends with but be really weird around me?
