Temperature setting to conserve fuel on home hot water system?

Lowest setting for your personal convenience and tolerance level. If you're content with luke-warm water for shower/bath, set it low (around 100 F/38 C). If you're the only person using it, fine. If your wife and kids have a say, I bet you will need to warm it up a little.
